3 months & counting

Thanks to my friend, Jean, I've been able to leave my students in the hands of a trusted teacher so I can take some Fridays off. After two weeks of getting the yearbook done and teaching after-school tutorials, having two three-day weekends was such a blessing. What have I done with my time? Well, first I sleep, and then I try and be productive, which sometimes happens. I was able to register, get some things framed at Hobby Lobby, plan the nursery, read, watch movies/TV, bake, and just relax. I discovered etsy and love the baby decor (especially the wall art) on the site. We just picked these out and I am so excited to see them in use! I still have quite a few things left to do until Baby A comes, but am on schedule so far:

April:
  • Clean/organize everything in sight
  • Scrapbook our wedding
  • Register @ the hospital
  • Pick a pediatrician
  • Register for cloth diapers (I'm figuring it out this Saturday!)
  • Feebly help Aaron as he and a family friend redo the nursery bathroom
May:
  • Buy bookshelves for the living room
  • Actually hang pictures/decor on our walls (I figured it was about time after 2 years of living here...*hides face in embarrassment*)
  • Set up recycling bins (yep! We already do paper, but will add glass, aluminum, and plastic)
  • Clean the carpets
  • Pick pillows and curtains for the living room
  • Set up the nursery!
Aaron's Aunt Tina came into town for a visit this past Saturday and surprised us with a few early Easter presents. I nearly salivated as I unwrapped these:
Although we won't use these until the baby begins to eat solid food, it is so reassuring to have it already! This is exactly what I had planned to get myself, so I was soo excited. Thank you, Aunt Tina!

This week's excitement: Sarah comes to visit!

365 days a year...

Is there anyone else who likes to drink hot chocolate all year round? Yes, this is possible, even in Texas. I know many people out there have their own personal hot chocolate recipe that they love, and I wanted to share my family's favorite. Thanks, Aunt Cindy, for passing this along!

Aunt Cindy's Hot Chocolate Mix

Blend together in large bowl:

*One 8-quart box of powdered milk
*32 oz. box of NestlĂ©’s Quick
*15 oz. jar malted milk
*10 oz. Jar creamer
*1 lb. box powdered sugar
*½ cup cocoa

Mix 1/3 cup with 6 oz. hot water, pop some marshmallows on top, and enjoy!
